Repentence

Once on a street in Lucknow, a drunken man was roaming & was shouting meaninglessly. He was often falling here & there. It looked like he was not aware with his own address. All of a sudden he stepped into an open manhole
The thing covering gutter etc.
. He lost his balance and got his head blooded after a powerful strike in the nearby lying manhole cover.
From his negative direction was coming a lady dressed in quite old sari. She was looking angry as she was continuously shouting. She was his wife, who was following him since he left desi wine shop. She went there to find him when it became quite late in night. Getting to him she picked him giving him her support. She was scolding him for his bad practises. She then took him to their home which was a quite a distance away from their current location. It was a old brick house with cracked plaster spread all over the floor. In a corner was kept a stove & some half burnt utensils. There was a torn mat spread on the other corner where two of their kids were sleeping. She spread another mat nearby and made him (Mohan

) sit on it. She brought some homemade paste and used it on his wound which he got felling in the gutter. Afterwards she brought some food for him in which they had few chapattis with some dal. He was fed up of his daily routine. He just hated the food, they had.

He became so angry such that he started using abusive words for his wife. He threw the plate outside their house. His wife got so angry and got quite upset with her husband’s behaviour.
She went outside to bring back the plate. He was a irresponsible man. He worked at a cotton mill and earns Rs 1000/- a month. He wastes max. Of his money in wine and the rest gets in buying medicine for him as a consequences of wine. Doctors forbade him to do so but he never left wine. The daily expenses were a great challenge. She worked house to house washing dirty clothes and utensils. She had to fed her children. At this condition, this man demands for good food.
A dog was busy eating the thrown food. She charged at it and it fled away. It (the dog) saw Mohan throwing the food and it utilized the lateness of Sheela
The woman (Mohan’s wife)
. The dog was hungry since the previous day. The last time he got food was about 18 hours before the present time. This food was like a gift to it.
She brought the plate inside and went to place it at its position near to the other unwashed utensils. She was quite angry with him thus went to sleep at a mat lying nearby.
Mohan had an evil grouping of friends. They were engaged in many criminal activities all over the city. This all created many of their enemies. Their enemies were often in search
for some occasion to kill them all. As he was about to sleep, he heard something.
As the sound was just for a few seconds, he ignored it. He stood up and went near to the earthen water pot. His legs were shaking due to the intoxication.
At that very moment, the main door collapsed with a great noise. Someone was in their house and within few moments, he opened firing meaninglessly. He was at a corner of that house, behind the door. The killer did’nt saw him. Like him, his family was not so lucky. They were all dead before they could understand anything. Soon the man found Mohan standing nearby to the pot at his very place. He aimed at him. Mohan was feeling quite helpless as he failed to save his family and now he too was going to die.
In his last few seconds, he was repenting for his evil deeds. His wife’s face was before him and he remembered her advices. She loved him and was always by his side in his odd periods. He just wanted to make everything right but this was impossible as no bullet can return back after getting fired. Time always moves forward and can’t be turned in opposite direction.
The man was about to fire when a thing attacked him. The dog was at him and bit him at several places. This gave Mohan to overcome the situation and he picked up the revolver which fell in the dog attack. Seeing the revolver in Mohan’s hand, the man fled away to save his life. Sometime ago he was repenting for his mistakes and God saved him.
He was given the chance to re correct the issues which went wrong. Then to he was upset for his family.
The dog was still there staring him continuously. It came near him and stood near him. It showed its loyalty towards the food which it ate few moments ago. He did’nt fed him the food intentionally but got a fruitful feedback. He took an oath in front of his wife’s dead body that he would leave all evil deeds and would start a new life. He brought that dog home (his new home) and started living happily. Now Mohan has his own home based grocery shop. He makes quite enough for the two of them. He gave up his habit of drinking wine all day and at the same time left his worse grouping. He helped Police in identifying many criminals and served his city in many ways.
That night was a turning point in his life and he could not be able to forget it.

Circumstances

Circumstances can be explained by the occasions when our internal qualities come in highlight. Qualities like Confidence, Problem solving capability, Self belief etc comes in highlight. We all have these qualities. The difference is only that someone has it in extreme and some possess it in a little proportion. Nourishment of these qualities makes it sharp in us. That’s why army people are as bold as they often get the chance to use these internal qualities. This nourishes their confidence & other qualities and makes them different from others.
Intentionally or unintentionally, everyone use these qualities in different proportions. Thus, their nourishment levels are also in various proportions.
In this life, sometimes circumstances become more powerful and we are compelled to bear the losses provided by it. Here comes our internal quality, which shows us the path to move on.

A man was reading the newspaper sitting comfortably on his sofa. He takes little sips of tea, every time he gets deep in to some news. His wife was sitting in front of him. Her tea cup was lying on the glass table before her. She emptied the cup few moments ago and now was staring her husband. She was noticing his facial expressions which were volatile. He was taking the sips from his tea cup as if, it was quite hot.
Soon the woman got tired seeing him like this. She enquired him about his slackness. He was sipping the tea for last 15 minutes and the cup was still not empty.
He got rid of the hypnotism of the newspaper. He emptied his cup and handed it to his wife. She left the room and went into the kitchen. Suddenly the man got excited and shouted. He said “What bloody circumstance gives a man, the right to kill anyone.” The woman ran out of the kitchen. The wet flour was sticking on her hands. She was kneading the flour in the kitchen. She asked the reason for his excitement.
He told her to wash her hands and come. Afterwards he told him about the news that made him excited.
The news was of a man who killed his landlord. His name is Lakshmi Chandra Yadav. He lived in a flat in the Karol Bagh area of Delhi. He lived there with his whole family including his wife and two children. It was written that they were there since 8-10 months. He worked at a private bank at the post of a Cashier. The bank was not far off. It was near to their house. All of a sudden, one day he lost his job as he was charged in the affairs of cheating and doing fraud with the bank. He was suspended and moreover, a case was filed against him. Thus getting entrapped between these complications and difficulties, he failed to pay the house rent. The landlord waited for further two months and then at last asked for his rent. The man requested him to donate him some spare time.
After few weeks, he managed to gather enough money to pay the house rent. To their bad luck, one more trouble was moving by their side. His son got infected with some deadly virus. It was spreading in his body and simultaneously his condition was also getting worst. On the other side, he made the landlord aware with his condition. He managed this money to pay back their rent. Now it was their son who was in much danger. They both decided to use it for their son’s treatment. Somehow the landlord got this news. He at once got to that place and asked for his money. They asked some more time. This time the landlord had no mercy for them. He addressed that man and his family as cheaters and frauds. In this all, a furious fight arose between them. Getting in anger the man killed the landlord with a flower base. He hit the thing hard on his head. The land lord died on the spot.
His child was now danger free but the man was arrested and was sent to jail.
Listening to the whole story, the woman supported the man who killed the landlord. She added saying that the landlord was a miser and got his reward. She said “Sometimes Circumstances becomes more powerful than one’s wish. Good or bad seems nothing at that time.” On the other side, her husband’s opinion was quite different from her opinion. He was surprised to hear her opinion. According to him, nothing can force a man to kill anyone. He said “Circumstances are the excuses made by man to get rid from the situations- situations which created due to his faults.”
Days passed and simultaneously months passed. The pair forgot about the debate. One day the man was looking out from his balcony. He saw a pup doing shit at their door steps and it also pissed at their door steps. It turned angry and started throwing stones at it. The pup ran away. He too left the balcony and came in the drawing room. Like his daily routine he picked up the newspaper and started reading it. His wife came from behind and spread her arms in his neck. She told him about their second marriage anniversary. Few days were only left for the occasion. She romantically asked his planning for their marriage anniversary. He nodded in surprise. She further added her wish to visit some National Park. He thought and then agreed.
The day approached,
They were ready to leave for the National Park. All the required things were packed. They told their milkman and others to come the next week. They closed the door and were ready to leave. Suddenly she told him that she left her Rudraksha locket at the cupboard. She insisted her husband to bring the thing. He asked her to postpone her idea and also promised to carry it on their other tours. After his much explanation, she agreed. They moved towards their destination. They preferred going to Jim Corbett Tiger Reserve. Tigers are its main attraction but the park is the home to many of the world’s unique species. It is situated in Uttarakhand, a hilly chilled state of India.
They headed towards the highways which connected Delhi to Uttarakhand. Their destination was quite far. It took quite many hours for them to cover up the distance. They rested the evening and hired a guide for them. It was their second anniversary and they wanted to make it memorable. Thus they made their guide aware with their ideas. They wanted him to take them in the jungle as early as possible.
The next day, they were ready to leave. Their guide was a bit late. They were eagerly waiting for his arrival. Soon the guide appeared before them but his arm was bandaged. He told them that he had a small accident last night. He fell from the staircase of his house. He had a minute sprain in his right foot too. He suggested them to postpone their plan for the next day. They were quite disappointed. The man suggested him to come with them and only show them the path. He further told him that they don’t have weeks and wanted to complete their tour as soon as possible. They tried to change his mind by increasing the amount of his paycheck. At last, he agreed. They were excited as it was their first experience into a jungle. They asked the Guide to take them to the place where tigers are seen more often. He nodded.
He asked them to be alert as they were in the jungle, the place of wild. They were surprised to hear his frightening words. They asked the cause for his fear. In their opinion, he was used to with that jungle. They were the ones who should be fearsome. He told them that it doesn’t matter how many times you have invaded the jungle. It is the place for the wild and they are always in danger. The most experienced could also die committing a minute mistake. He once again alerted them. He told them to close their glass windows. Soon they found a tiger sitting on the grass. It was a huge animal with the kingly glare on its face. It was the first time when they saw a tiger. They often saw the great creature in the television. Also, they got the chance to make an eye contact with that beautiful creature. They waited there for a while to notice its activities. Soon the tiger lost its interest and moved in the dense bushes which were in their right. In this all, it passed by their car. It was nearly a foot away from their car. The woman got so excited such that she nearly jumped from her seat. The man was happy seeing his wife’s happiness.
Afterwards they moved further in the jungle. The guide told them about that tiger. “Its name was Bagha. It was one of the giant tigers of the jungle. At the same time, it was among the few peace loving tigers of that jungle. It was never seen growling on the humans. On the opposite side, some tigers were of violent nature. Apart from roaring, they were seen attacking on some of the tourists. It can be judged that they hated the trespassing of humans in their area. None can even imagine the consequences created on a tiger attack. They are quite heavy and more powerful. If we are in a fight with a violent tiger, it would surely kill us.”
These short stories about the jungle’s tigers shake them. They asked him to avoid the dangerous routes. They told him to take them to the places they could see other animals too. He asked the man to turn the car to the sharp left. He was taking them to the river where tigers are often seen. He told them that they could see deers, antelopes, elephants etc on the edge of the river. These animals come to drink the cold water from the river. At the same time tigers, leopards, panthers etc are also seen there. This place is quite ideal for them and they easily get their prey in these places.
They were about to reach the river. All of the sudden, an elephant came out from the bushes and stood before their car. The man pressed the car’s brake. The car stopped with a jerk and stopped an inch away from its legs. The elephant was not wild. It was a forest ranger’s elephant. If it would have been the group of wild elephants, they would have surely killed them. The ranger got down from his elephant and came before their window. The man opened his window. The ranger came on his window and forbade them to move further. He further told them about a tiger who was sitting in their way. It was eating a deer and could be violent on disturbing. He suggested them to wait there or choose any other way to move further. The man asked for his name. His name was Raghu and his elephant’s name was Raja. He thanked the ranger and then stopped by to discuss on their further plans. The couple stared the guide, expecting of some solution. The guide thought for some moments.
He suggested to move further but from any other route. He told them that they were compelled to choose a dangerous route. In this route there were many dangerous animals. It was the area of wild dogs, hyenas etc. The couple suggested waiting till the tiger leaves the way. At this, the guide explained the consequences created if they did’nt move. It was nearly 03:00 pm. He added saying that the tiger had its own wish. It could take a hour or two in that. It was jungle and night always comes early in the jungles. They could be in much danger during the nights. The next destination (the guest house) was few hours away. He ended his speech saying that they should not stop and should move further.
They agreed him and moved on the suggested route. There were much denser bushes in that route. Soon they were hearing the loud voices of the wild dogs. They saw them eating some animal. They are worth to be addressed as the cruelest creature on this earth. It took them more than the estimated time. They got late because of some trees which were unexpectedly fallen on the road. Due to this reason, they chose the way into the jungle. It was not the densest part but there were many trees and it was getting more difficult for the man to handle the car. Finally they reached to a road from where the guest house was quite near. It was nearly dark in the jungle. The man put on the car’s headlight. They were moving and moving when suddenly their car got misbalanced on some stones. The man lost all the controls and the car turned to their left. Unfortunately, there was a slope and the car slipped on to it. The car got into some semi-liquefied pond. It was a swamp and the car started drowning. All of them were wounded. Seeing the car drowning, they tried to get out from it. So they cracked the back glass of the car. The man came out first. He made a huge jump but managed to make him safe. Now was the woman. She was quite fearsome. She jumped on her husband’s urge. To her bad luck, her jump was not enough to land her safely on the ground. She fell in that large swamp and started drowning. She started crying loudly. She yelled to her husband to save her. On the other side, the guide jumped the swamp easily as he was quite experienced.
They were helpless and were not in the condition to save her. The guide brought a thick branch of a tree. He found it lying under a tree. They both tried to make her hold that branch. It was quite long was not enough to reach the woman. She was drowning. Her husband was crying more bitterly as never before. He was helpless and was not capable to do anything for her. The Circumstances made him so weak such that he was compelled to see his wife drowning. He was helpless and was crying seeing his wife dying in front of him.
Suddenly a voice attracted their attention. The voice was of the wild dogs. It looked as if they were quite close. The guide had no interest in their love affair. Thus he ran to save him. The man asked him to stop. He suggested the man to run with him. According to him, his wife was near to her death and it was impossible to save her. He suggested him to save his life and forgot his wife. At first, he shouted at him. Then after some moments, he ran after him. The woman yelled for help. He ignored her painful calls. This was the plot created by the Circumstances. It compelled him to leave his wife and ran to save his life.
He ran faster and soon found the guide running. He was injured and thus was not capable to run fast. The voices increased. They guessed some dogs were after them. The guide tried to get rid from the man. He wanted to go alone. In his opinion, If he would leave the man alone, the dogs would make him their prey. In the meantime, he would get sufficient time to save himself. He asked the man to run away in any other direction. He guessed his intentions. Then to he moved after him. This all irritated the man. He angrily asked him to change his direction and not chase him. When the man forbade doing so, he attacked him with a sharp knife. His arm got wounded and he fell on the ground. The man got too much angry with that wicked guide. He got up from the ground and leaped on that guide. They started fighting furiously. All of the sudden, they stopped. Something was standing a few meters away. They turned their head towards that unknown’s direction. They were quite stunned. Their legs started trembling with fear.
A dog was standing in front of them. It was a normal size dog but the only difference was in the eyes. Its eyes were much fearsome and terrible. It was growling at them. It was dark but they could see its eyes shining in the moon light. They ran to save their lives. At first, they were both in the same pace but soon the guide tried to slip in some other direction. Seeing him escaping in some other direction, he got much worried. At the same time, he was unarmed. He knew that he was the easiest target for the wild animals. He ran after that selfish guide.
The dogs were not far and he knew the fact. The guide was much far but he was able to judge him running. He ran hard to catch him. Suddenly, he felt something rushing towards his direction. At that very moment his unseen fear was before him. It leaped at him and with a jerk, he was on the ground. It was alone and was trying to tear him. The man was in the pathetical condition. He saw the guide running faster than ever before. Also, he could hear the other dogs rushing. Now his only aim was to save him from the upcoming painful death. He pushed the dog with his complete power. He picked up a huge stone and threw it on that animal. It strikes its legs and it yelled in pain. This all gave him the chance to run away. He was much wounded and thus was not capable to run fast. The dog injured his right leg and had also bitten at his stomach. His T-Shirt was quite wet in blood. Then to, he collected all his power and ran in order to save him. The guide was now disappeared from his sight. He ran and ran in the hope to find that guide. The guide was totally disappeared.
He sat by the road. To his good luck, he saw some footprints. It was the human footprints which were going behind some trees. He followed the foot prints and got to a place from where, he was able to see the highway. He was overjoyed. He could see the guide between the dense bushes. He ran after him and soon was near him. The guide was surprised to see him alive. Now their destination was near, thus both of them moved in that direction. They thought that the danger was over. This was their fault. A danger was quietly waiting for their arrival. As they came out from the bushes, they saw some shining eyes staring them. They thought that the danger was left behind but it was their fault. Those were the wild dogs waiting for them to cross the bushes. The man was empty handed and was much unsecure. He saw the big knife in that guide’s hand. Now was his turn to deceive him. He jumped at him and snatched the knife. The guide tried to stop him. Therefore, he pierced the knife into his heart. He ran in some other direction.
The guide was surprised by this sudden happening. The dogs leaped at him and within some moments, he died. The man reached to the highway. He ran on the road expecting someone. He got disappointed as he found none on the road. Also, he was unaware with the route to the nearby guest house. Now, he was alone on the road with danger surrounding him every time. He sat on the road.
He knew that he did a blunder mistake by killing that guide. He was the only one, who was aware with the jungle routes. He was going through his life and was analyzing his faults etc. Suddenly, the day appeared before him. He had a small conversation on the topic Circumstances. He remembered his words. He said, “What bloody circumstance gives a man, the right to kill anyone.” His wife opposed him saying that circumstances can force anyone to even kill someone.
Those were the Circumstances which compelled him to kill the guide. At the same time, he left his wife dying in that swamp. In these two incidents circumstances forced him to save his life and let the other die. He was upset for his wife and was crying.
The next morning,
A car passed by that highway. A man with his wife was in that car. They were there to visit the park. Suddenly the woman cried with horror. She showed her husband the thing which frightened her. A head type of thing was lying on the corner of the road. The man saw it from their car window and told her that it was a stone. They moved further…
